on my windowsill {24/52}

I just love some delicious window light. I don’t know what it is about items on a windowsill that appeals to me so much. And I swear, one of these days I will have a big, beautiful window overlooking my kitchen sink, filled with potted herbs and pretty glass bottles. You would think that would be pretty standard – a kitchen window over the sink – but I’ve lived in numerous places and haven’t had one yet. What’s up with that?

One of these days.

In the meantime, I’ll enjoy the light from my front windows …

Lavender, fresh from my garden. So sweet.

Texture on the above photo is courtesy of the talented and generous Kim Klassen. I’ve missed texture work! Shame on my lazy self. tsk tsk.

Mighty fine day to be a monkey.

My “beachy” livingroom re-do is coming along quite nicely. Expect photos in the near (maybe not so near) future. Maybe. I swear, my poor Husband gets a migraine when he sees the paint cans enter the house. He knows it’s never going to be just paint. Nope.

I bought a couch last week too. And a love seat. And possibly, a lamp or two.

*ahem*

and of course, the requisite (lately!) iPhone shot. Serious love for the hipstamatic app. Serious love :D

on my windowsill.

My camera is pretty happy this week, having the dust blown off of her, seeing as I’ve been such a slacker in that department lately. iPhone makes me lazy (not that I’m complaining about that one bit). Mustn’t let that happen because truthfully, my hands and mind were a wee bit rusty, picking her up.

Use it or lose it, as the saying goes ;)

    Jan, those are so pretty! Love your window light, and the colors of the background scenery through the window really add to it, especially on the starfish photo.

    I have to say – I have missed your camera photos, a LOT. Not that those you take with Instagram aren’t fantastic… but I love the focus and textures and stuff you do with the camera shots.
