03 Oct fall fun {276/365}
I took some shots of the leaves on the sidewalks yesterday (so cliche but I can’t help myself), and when I was looking at them today, I realized I really wanted a person in there somewhere. All blurry in the backround, y’know?
See?
Pretty, yes. But it needs a body.
(not this one though … unless you’re an elf)
So I asked daughter to come out with me today so I could go back. And wouldn’t you know, when we got there, somebody had been all Mr. CleanUp and the sidewalks were bare, all the leaves sitting in a pile on the grass.
I said, “you think they’d be mad if I put them back on the sidewalk?”
“umm, yeah Mom”.
Bummer.
There’s no shortage of leaves around here though, so we went elsewhere.
And I got my shot.
Sorta.
The other street was prettier.
Right beside her, there on the left, was a HUGE yard. Utterly gorgeous with huge old trees and OMG a tire swing … I died. I wanted to knock on the door and rent their property. Or kick them out. Or something.
Beg?
Whatever, we did take a few steps in (honestly, it was still a good quarter mile or so to their house) and had some fun.
Who can resist tossing leaves?
They go up …
and then they come down :)
(That last one is my shot for the day, although I couldn’t decide between it and the one before it. Still can’t, actually. Nothing new there, right?)
And because I couldn’t resist and I don’t have enough to do with my time (oh how I wish) I had to go ahead and do this …
Triple threat. You better believe it.
Actually, maybe that one should be my shot for the day.
hmmm ….
Have I mentioned I love Fall the best?
I love Fall the best :)

Posted at 23:57h, 03 OctoberYou have NO idea how much I would love to take pics like this! Seriously, here in Southern Cali, there’s nothing like this, EVER. The further north in the state I go I will find it, but WAY north. lol. These shots are just gorgeous. You’re photography gets better and better everyday. You ROCK it, girlfriend!
And what lens are you using? 50mm?? Great DOF.

Posted at 00:21h, 04 OctoberOkay, really love them all…big fall fan, here…but I gotta say that I like the first two the very best. Did you know you have become part of my nightly routine? Every night, right before I go to bed I check out your blog. Ah, how I love ritual. Let’s hope tonight’s visit inspires sweet dreams of frolicking in leaves. :)

Taking me to bed with you :)
I really like the first one too. The older streets in this town are so pretty this time of year.
Old, old trees. Gorgeous.

Posted at 20:14h, 04 OctoberOK. How did you do that – the three in one? I love the way the leaves floating over Kaitlyn stand out so vividly from the rest. Here in Kingston, the trees aren’t in such a state of color yet – due to the influence of Lake Ontario. Now, if we were to head north a few miles…..I love Fall but I always grieve the passage of Summer. We unpacked the boat on Saturday and took off the sails. Sob! Sob!
