focus52|2012 {week thirty-eight} september 16 to 22

Here we are at week thirty-eight, 52’rs! Unbelievable. We’ve lost a few members along the way but a lot of you are still here and it makes me happy to see the commitment you’re giving to your project. So absolutely awesome, all of you. Trust me when I say, you’re going to be happy and proud of yourselves at the end of the year. I know, firsthand ;)

Now, on to this week …

We’ve already hit the streets, so now it’s time to hit the road! (this week has nothing at all to do with street photography whatsoever – stop freaking out). This week it’s all about roads. Literally.

Get the idea? Roads. Highways. Byways. The open road. The road to nowhere. Hit the road, Jack …

When capturing photos of roads and such, you’ll find you’ll get a much better scene when shooting from a down-low perspective and setting your focal point just slightly ahead of you. Also, if you’re going to go ahead and stand in the middle of the road (*ahem – don’t judge me) you will want to take somebody with you to keep an eye out for vehicles and y’know, generally have your back, safety wise. All of the roads in my photos above are slow country roads with little to no traffic. I was not hurt, maimed or otherwise runned over (the one with the headlights was a bit unexpected). DO NOT, repeat DO NOT go out and stand in the middle of a busy road.

Geez.

(I may be totally laughing myself silly right now. Maybe)

(seriously though – be careful)

Whatever you decide to do this week, follow the prompt or not, come back here and share your work when you’re done (weeks run Sunday to Saturday, don’t forget!). Links must be to the direct URL of your actual work, not just to the site it’s posted in, and may be a link to your blog post or to your flickr photo (again, the actual photo, not your entire flickr stream). Also, please don’t link and run – try to find some time to visit at least a few of your fellow 52’ers. That’s half the fun! It’s a fact that those who link up early, get the most interaction on their work. Truth.

And don’t forget the flickr pool.

Have a fun and SAFE week, 52’rs!

Thanks for doing so much work and shepherding us along this year. You have inspired me to the point that even though I’m not posting many if any of mys shots on Flickr the last few weeks I’ve done yours. This last week was a difficult one since my mind was here in Amsterdam not on songs.

Voice from the Couch is constantly telling me to get out of the middle of the road! So he’ll get more practice while we are in London!

My pleasure! It makes me happy to see you sticking with it, busy as you are.

I’m dragging my feet on editing the photos I took for this … because they’re all freakin’ AMAZING! I need to close my browser windows and get cracking. It’s going to be so hard to narrow down what to actually blog & share …
