5 on 5: When I Blinked and It Was Almost Halloween

About the 5 on 5 Project: Post five photos on the fifth of each month – a no pressure project with like-minded photo friends. No rules and no themes, just tell a story with some favourite photos from the previous month, and link to the next photographer in line. Easy and pressure-free. Enjoy!

It was August just yesterday, wasn’t it?

I could have sworn it was.

I’m not sure where the past couple of months have gone. I’ve spent the past few hours looking back over photos, so yes there is evidence that September and October have been full and extremely busy.

Just not that much evidence.

Does this mean that I’m too busy living life? or just too lazy to pick up a camera?

Maybe a bit of both.

Naptime
This is not lazy. THIS is dead tired. When you fall asleep on top of a ladder, you KNOW you're working too damn hard.

Sometimes, it’s nothing more than just being *gasp* tired of taking photos.

It happens.

When you commit to a photo-a-day and those days become years, and those years become six years … it happens.

Boredom. Frustration. Anxiety over boredom and frustration.

Heh.

But in going through my photos tonight, searching for anything remotely useable for this month’s 5 on 5 entry (that I hadn’t already posted to instagram or Facebook or anywhere else), I realized that I missed it. I miss having an abundance of photographic record of days. I miss the photos I won’t see when I get to the end of the year and want to have a peek back at 2016.

Damn.

When you’ve done something for so long, you get to a point where you wonder if you’re still doing it because you love it, or because it’s just what you do.

Again, maybe a bit of both.

But I miss it.

Hello Autumn
Hello Autumn, my old friend. Thank you for waiting for me.

And yes, I most definitely do love it.

Now then, we shall all just see past the fact that I AM A SLACKER WHO DOES NOT HAVE FIVE PHOTOS TO POST THIS MONTH.

My bad.

Please pay a visit to the rest of the talented women participating in this month’s 5 on 5. You can start right here with the wonderful Lianne Thompson.

That chipmunk is channeling my level of energy these days. LOVE. And Janice, your road photos???? You should be world-renowned for those alone. You are a genius.

The chipmunk is cute, and it’s a fabulous capture, but? The other one. The one with the most glorious autumm color that made me literally gasp. That’s worth the whole month. I think you have such a talent for 365 projects. You somehow make the mundane lovely and interesting. Every time I see your projects, I’m inspired to do one. And then I remember. I lose interest in less than a week. xo

Ha! Yes, sometimes keeping your interest focused is quite the challenge!
      Thanks so much, Mo! xo
