27 Dec focus52 december 27 to december 31
This is IT, 52’rs! Our final week!
Wow.
I just want to say how proud I am of all of you for sticking with your project and seeing it through to the end of the year. I hope you’re proud of yourselves! It’s no small accomplishment, you know. It takes a certain amount of discipline and commitment to do what you have done, and I hope you are feeling quite self-satisfied and happy.
For our final week of the year, I’d like you to really give some thought to everything you’ve put in here … the time, the commitment. Maybe think about where’d you like to go from here. Another project? (yes, focus52 will run again for 2012 – more on that later) Maybe a few classes? How would you like to further your photography in 2012?
Your final image of the year, of this project, should be a homage to all you’ve accomplished. Perhaps a toast to the end of a satisfying year?
This week, it’s time for a …
* celebration! *
(click to define)
How you choose to wrap up the end of your project is up to you, but I hope you find a way to give yourself a creative pat on the back. You deserve it!
You might want to also take this time to show off your accomplishment and do something with the 52 (or more!) photos you’ve taken this year. Last year, for my 365, I finished up the year with a video of all of my images. I can’t tell you how satisfying that was. It’s also a really, really great way to see how your skills have progressed throughout the year (omg some of my early ones? shudder).
Creating an album for the year is also a great thing to do. There are tons of places on the web to get that done easily and relatively painlessly. I love blurb, but that’s just me. Google ‘photobooks’ or ask around and see what others are using and happy with.
Whatever you choose to do … PRINT YOUR PHOTOS! Don’t leave them on your hard drive, collecting dust. There is nothing more satisfying than holding your own creation in your hands and saying, I did that.
Print.Your.Photos.
Okay. I think that’s it. I honestly can’t think of a way to wrap up this post, so I’ll just say “SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!” and leave it at that :)
(oh, and check back in the next few days for info on focus52 for 2012)
The link up is open for the rest of the week, here and on flickr.
Have a great New Year, everybody!
It’s been a pleasure. Seriously.
