berried

During my little photo-walk around Island Lake on Saturday morning, I was grateful for the hindsight in bringing along my macro lens. I had started out with my trusty 50mm, snapping shots of scenery, boats, birds … but then I slapped on the macro and changed my perspective. I started taking in the little things.

It’s good to stop and figuratively smell the roses.

Or in this case, the berries :)

Our prompt this week for focus52 is ‘thankful’ and although I took this photo last week (isn’t that always the way?) I am thankful for these moments when I can slow down and look at the beauty around me.

We should all do more of that.
