28 Nov walking in a winter wonderland {331/365}
I woke up this morning to the first real snowfall of the season.
You know I headed to the lake ;)
I spent about an hour there, walking the trail around the lake. As first snows go, this one was perfect. Not too much, relatively tame, and the sun came out to turn everything fresh and beautiful.
Perfect.
A tree was down over one of the roads, but hadn’t completely fallen. There was room enough for my car to squeeze under, with the branches scraping my roof. Driving under it, I thought about what the hell I would do if it decided to fall the rest of the way at that precise moment.
I don’t always have the best ideas. In my defense though, they usually work out ;)
What?
A little (really big, actually) tree isn’t going to stand in this girl’s way. heh.
Less than two minutes into my walk, I wiped out on the path. Almost did the splits.
Stop laughing.
I saw a cute little mink taking a swim. That’s a first.
And walking around, I’m reminded (again) that I watch far too many scary movies to walk for long by myself in the bush.
Also? If you walk for a really long time, you should keep in mind that you’re going to have to walk ALL that way back again to get to your car.
In the cold.
Dork.

Posted at 06:51h, 28 NovemberWhat a nice outing – trees, slips, minks, and all. Minks bite you know. Glad you made it back safely. And glad, too, that you have that white stuff and we don’t – yet. Ah, one of the many things I like about living where we do.
