magic {195/365}

People think I’m crazy sometimes.

What are you looking at? they ask, when I’m staring intently and thinking, thinking, thinking.

The light.

Yep, I’m watching the light, watching the way it plays across the grass/hills/trees/faces … anything and everything.  I’ve always been that way, but since I’ve started this project it’s crazy the way it takes me in and stops me in the middle of my day.

magical 195/365

And I love it. I love the way it can turn something ordinary into something magical.  I love how something so simple puts a smile on my face and makes me pause to simply stand, breathe and enjoy.

I often wonder how other people see things.  I wonder if they ever slow down to really take in what surrounds them.

So this shot?  About ten to twenty feet beyond those trees is a road.  Directly behind me is my boss’s driveway, and a few feet from that, our office.  My car is parked, along with a few of the crew’s trucks. The shop with it’s two huge bay doors faces the driveway.  Off to the right a little ways are Neil and DJ, boss Lady’s two Border Collies who herd me into the driveway every morning.

It’s a pretty normal, everyday scene.

And one my boss passes at least ten to twenty times a day.

There’s special in the ordinary.

What does she see?

    I’m always noticing the light and since taking on photography I definitely see so much more around me. I love that.

    Gorgeous photo, but more importantly your post really makes me think. How often to we miss the true beauty of life because we are caught up in the mundane things that make up life. Thanks for the reminder.

    I see an enchanted sunlit portal to an enchanted world. A plsce of whimsy, magic, timelessness, and fun.

    This is a beautiful shot. Marsha, Enchanticals
