11 Jun fluid {162/365}
I swear that after today, I shall not rest until I find an old, battered pair of ballet slippers.
Preferably with ribbons.
Anybody giving those away? :p
I would’ve killed for a pair today. The prompt for day six of Creativity Boot Camp is “fluid” and to me, that means movement. Graceful, flowing, seamless movement.
Ballet anyone?
No?
Darn.
I thought about today’s assignment off and on all day. Took a drive over to the water park, hoping to catch some fountain action (in lieu of non-available ballerinas) but the Town apparently hasn’t decided it’s summer yet and the water was off. Tons of kids running around on the dry splashpads. Weird. Just as well the water was off because there were actually too many kids about and it probably would’ve been impossible to get a clear shot of just water. And, y’know, I kind of have this aversion to looking like a nutbar with a camera in a park that’s crawling with children. ewwww.
I headed downtown where there are some old-fashioned drinking fountains along the street, thinking I’d get a shot of that, water flowing. Maybe some lips in there. heh.
Water was off.
What is UP with this town?
And then? I’m driving passed the movie theater and omg there’s a karate demo going on outside. Movement! Fluid movement! Apparently it was for the launch of Karate Kid. LOL! Whatever – opportunity!!!
Not.
By the time I parked, they were done.
*sigh*
So … I came home and tossed a scarf in the air,
and called it a day.
It’s fluid-y, right?
Right???
I sure could’ve used a helper. Apparently this scarf is impossible to get stuck in a tree and blow all free and billowy-like for my shooting enjoyment. You’d think that would’ve been easy.
And it absolutely refused to fall in slow motion.
The nerve.

Posted at 23:55h, 11 Juneyeah. gravity is a bitch.
the photo is beautiful though…and definitely captures “fluid”.
I been reading your creativity workshop…and a lot of it applies to my writing too. I’ve been using it to kind of guide a personal writing challenge I’ve been doing. I wrote a piece for “layers”…when my new site goes up, I am going to post the pieces I’ve wrote from that once a week.
So, you’re work has actually been helping me get back to my writing again…thanks for that. xoxo

Posted at 02:31h, 12 JuneAs usual, you have me laughing out loud! I don’t know what your current occupation is, but I really hope that it’s something that lets you use your unbelievable talent for writing. You have a way of wording things that I can get a complete visual in my head. And as for your non cooperative scarf, I think it turned out excellent! Love the dark contrasting against the sky.
Have you read the word prompt for tomorrow? fly? I know how I’m going to be spending my saturday, snap, delete, snap, delete!

Great shot, J. Honestly beautiful!

Posted at 11:34h, 12 JuneThe scarf is definitely fluid – lovely! I too, went looking for water – and in Philadelphia, that’s not a hard thing – there’s a fountain on every corner. However, it was about 90 degrees yesterday, and when I sat down next to the fountain to get the right angle I completely burned my butt. Oopsy!

Posted at 12:13h, 12 JuneOkay, the story was fantastic in and of itself, and then the picture was like delicious floaty icing. But then I went to the Creativity Boot Camp site and almost died. Missing out on half of this – that’s what I get for checking out for a while. What fun!
Now to go back and see what all you’ve done for it.
Still stomping my feet a little …

Posted at 12:25h, 12 JuneI love your story of the hunt for the perfect picture and I think your picture is perfect — I had actually seen it already on the flickr site and was impressed — but now to hear the story behind it makes it fun too.
And thank you for visiting my blog — I wanted to send an email but there wasn’t one listed when I tried to reply from my email account so I am sending my thanks this way.

Posted at 14:32h, 12 JuneLovely photo! Funny that a few of us had ballet in our minds when it came to “fluid”. I wish I had kept all my old ballet slippers now – if only to photograph!
Thanks for visiting my blog.
Enjoy the rest of the course
