faux spring {63/365}

Another beautiful day today.  So gorgeous that I find myself with a case of Spring Fever, yet stuck with the dilemma of a good three feet of snow still covering my little piece of the world.

So I put a plant in the sunshine and played with the DOF for awhile. ha!  Take THAT winter.

And I’ve solved my problem (for the time being) with the nasty quality of my uploaded images here.  Y’know what I did?

I stopped uploading them.

That’s straight from flickr, and although I find it to be a pain in the ass (all those extra steps) it’s worth it to see the better quality.

Here, I’ll show you.

uploaded through wordpress

See the difference?  I’ve yet to figure out what gets lost in translation here.  I’ve never delved into the workings of a purely image driven site before, simply because I never had the need to do so.  And honestly, I didn’t notice the difference until I posted the shots from mcdonalds the other day.   But now it bugs me.  And if you know me at all, you’ll know that when something bugs me, I HAVE to get to the bottom of it.  heh.

I’m anal stubborn like that.

Holy shit, I need to check my glasses…I’m not seeing a difference. Is it big? WEIRD.

LOVE this photo though…flowers are my fave, & this is just beautiful.

LOL! The first is much sharper than the second. The second just seems all around muted for some reason.

Thanks! It’s some weird red peace lily husband bought me for valentine’s day :)

Glad you found a way to quench your spring fever even if it was in the snow.
I can see some difference in the two shots, mostly the veining in the red petals and the center yellow thingy seem a little sharper on the first one.

I’ll get to the bottom of it sooner or later! LOL …
Taking a guess, I’d say it might be something to do with the way WP compresses (crunches, in their language) the image.
For now, I’ll just post from flickr.
Less on my server anyway – one good thing :)

yep, straight from flickr is better.

A little touch of spring! Love it.

(and I am FINALLY caught up on my pictures. MAAAHAHAHA Who needs to go to school when they can sit at home and process photos?)
