focus52|2012 {week thirty-six} september 2 to 8

Welcome to September and week thirty-six of your focus52 project! My apologies for the late posting this week. Apparently in my house, getting ready for back to school entails redecorating the daughter’s bedroom. Fresh start and all that, y’know. So it’s 4am, I just showered the paint and plaster dust out of my hair and here I am. Dead on my feet and slightly incoherent, but here. heh. So you’ll kindly excuse me for what will probably be a very short post that may, or may not, make much sense.

It seems that at this time of year, it doesn’t really matter how old you are or how long it’s been since you’ve been in school, that feeling of new beginnings  and fresh notebooks hits us all. It’s also a time of year when parents across the land rejoice that the kids are finally back in school and to that end, our focus52 prompt this week is …

Find a quiet spot that speaks to you and capture it. Anywhere at all that may convey a feeling of silence.

For the record, I’ve always felt a little sad to see my girl return to school. When she was younger, I liked the carefree days of summer that held no plan or purpose and always felt a tiny bit of resentment when the school year began and off she’d go. Yes, my friends all think I’m crazy :)

Whatever you decide to do this week, follow the prompt or no, come back here and share when you’re done (weeks run Sunday to Saturday, don’t forget!). Links must be to the direct URL of your actual work, not just to the site it’s posted in, and may be a link to your blog post or to your flickr photo (again, the actual photo, not your entire flickr stream). Also, please don’t link and run – try to find some time to visit at least a few of your fellow 52’ers. That’s half the fun! It’s a fact that those who link up early, get the most interaction on their work. Truth.

And don’t forget the flickr pool.

The link up for last week’s post is looking a little sparse but I’m happy to see that we’re all busy enjoying this last long weekend of the summer (or, you know, painting a room. yeesh). Remember, you still have until 9pm tonight (Sunday) to submit your work so please do! You’ll find the party here.

That’s it! I’m off  to sleep for the next ten hours straight. Have a great week, 52’rs!
