focus52|2012 {week twenty-six} june 24 to june 30

Welcome to week twenty-six! Do you know that you guys are now officially at the HALF WAY MARK of your project? Yes you are! Congratulations! I’m so happy for all of you for sticking with your commitment and rising to the challenge you’ve set for yourselves. Well done, 52’rs, well done. I know from experience that even having come this far, there are moments (many moments!) when the urge to just say “ah, forget it” is strong. But keep at it, even during the times when you just don’t feel like it at all (and believe me, I have them too) because at the end of the year? you are going to be SO happy that you did. Trust me.

If you’re feeling like throwing in the towel, perhaps now might be a good time to give some thought to what you might like to do with all of the photos you collect this year. Some past members have made coffee table books (excellent idea and what a gift to give yourself), scrapbooks, framed their favorites and have them hanging in their homes or office. I do a video at the end of every year and I absolutely LOVE seeing my year fly by in photos that way. It’s also such an eye opener to see how you’ve grown in your skills throughout the year, like the beginning of my 365 Project. Ooooh boy, those first months were pretty shaky! heh. If you’re interested, you can find my 365 for 2010 here and my focus 52 project for 2011 here. Fun stuff, putting those together. I’ll be doing another one at the end of this year, for sure.

Anyway, my point is that keeping your eye on the prize, the goal, may help you in those moments where you just feel totally blech about the whole idea of picking up your camera. Aside from the fact that you’ve come this far – it would be an absolutely shame to give up now. We’re all busy, summer is upon us and we all have lives … but do yourself a favor and take the time to capture those life moments and memories.

There are no do-overs, guys.

On to this week! In the spirit of this milestone week in our project, our focus52 prompt for week 26 is …

I’m not giving you any hints or ideas for this week’s prompt. Nope, this one is all on you. And I honestly can’t wait to see what you guys come up with :)

Whatever you decide to do this week, follow the prompt or no (and why would you want to skip this important milestone?!), come back here and link up your work when you’re done (weeks run Sunday to Saturday, don’t forget!). Links must be to the direct URL of your actual work, not just to the site it’s posted in, and may be a link to your blog post or to your flickr photo (again, the actual photo, not your entire flickr stream). Also, please don’t link and run – try to find some time to visit at least a few of your fellow 52’ers. That’s half the fun! It’s a fact that those who link up early, get the most interaction on their work. Truth.

And don’t forget the flickr pool!

Have an awesome week, 52’rs. Be proud of yourselves. xo
