focus52|2012 {week twenty-two} may 27 to june 2

Welcome to week twenty-two, 52’rs. And to my American friends who are celebrating a Memorial Day long weekend, I hope you get to enjoy your time with family and friends and hopefully some nice weather. You know, it dawns on me, writing this, that maybe I should have made this week the week for the delicious prompt? I smell barbeques ;)

I want to try something a little bit different this week. It’s not a prompt in the sense of our usual descriptive word or photography technique. It’s more of an idea of a prompt, but I think it’s something you’ll like.

Keep your camera close this week and take a moment (or two or three!) to capture what you’re doing ‘right now’, right at that exact moment. And umm … keep it clean, will ya? heh. I think this could be an exercise where the technique of ‘just a glimpse’ would work quite well. Say you’re out for a jog (I just laughed out loud at that one, seriously) and that’s the moment you want to capture – you could photograph your feet, your cool shoes, the open road … you get it? Stuck at work? Grab a photo of your messy desk or stack of work, your keyboard, your hand writing something down on paper. Maybe you are at a barbeque – raise a glass and take a photo! Absolutely anything and/or everything you catch yourself doing this week could become your photo for week twenty two.

You could take this one step further too, if you’re so inclined. Pick a time of day, and take a photo of what you’re doing every single day this week at that same exact time. Could be fun!

I hope I got your wheels turning. Whatever you decide to do, follow the prompt or no, come back here and link up your work when you’re done (weeks run Sunday to Saturday, don’t forget!). Links must be to the direct URL of your actual work, not just to the site it’s posted in, and may be a link to your blog post or to your flickr photo (again, the actual photo, not your entire flickr stream). Also, please don’t link and run – try to find some time to visit at least a few of your fellow 52’ers. That’s half the fun! It’s a fact that those who link up early, get the most interaction on their work. Truth.

And don’t forget the flickr pool!

Have a great week, 52’rs. And please come on over and ‘like’ our new FB page if you haven’t yet.

no, really, I’ve been working on my craft room, and it’s taking me away from everything. I took photos today, inspired by the prompt. hope to blog them soon, so you can see my madness. :)
